How We Tested

  1. We created a blank project on each free account and submitted one identical prompt describing a private full-stack decision application called DecideLab.
  2. The prompt required a polished landing page, email authentication, protected user data, decision CRUD, weighted criteria totaling 100 percent, 1-to-10 option scoring, automatic rankings, sample data, loading states, validation, and responsive design.
  3. We did not send follow-up prompts and did not edit generated code. Timing started when the prompt was submitted and ended when the platform reported completion and the preview became testable.
  4. We created synthetic test accounts, exercised authentication, opened the private dashboard, inspected persisted decisions, checked the sample scoring workflow, and independently recalculated the displayed weighted totals.
  5. Scores use a preregistered 100-point rubric. Each category is capped at its stated weight, and the same evidence standard was applied to both tools.
  6. Screenshots were captured directly from the platform builders and previews after generation. They show the tested output and visible free-plan status.
